Which boat do you like best Skeeter's I boat or Ranger's Z boat?
And Why?
both boats are great.but like everything else in todays world way over priced.i own a 18' skeeter that i love.if i were going to buy a new boat today it would be a skeeter.thats just because i am a bug guy!!! but i can tell you this about ranger they are built like a tank. i know because two years ago my job took me to flippin arkansas and while i was there i took a tour through ranger.it took me about 45 minutes to go through the tour.and believe me the employees take pride in their work. i was very impressed with ranger boats.
Between the two, I'd go with the Ranger.
My reasons are all about personal preference. I'm more about comfort and a good ride instead of high speed performance. Ranger has a nicer ride on rough water.
I've also known two people that have bought brand new Skeeters in the last couple of years. BOTH had stress crack problems within the first 6 months.
Both boats went back to Texas for repair.
Skeeter I class has a awesome ride, Yes we sell them at Plapps. However I dont think you will find a better ride. As far as Stress cracks, I have not seen any in the Skeeters especially the I-class in particular. If you are interested in a demo ride give us a call. I have driven both the 20 and 21 footers and they are impressive boats. Ranger builds a great boat, but the Skeeter performance, deck layout and ride are very impressive. We also have BassCats, the JD power award winner the last 2 years running. If you have any questions please give me a call.

I like Ranger, but not the Z Model. It would be a 520 Series for me.
If money was no object I might, but for my tournament fishing, I feel some of the cost of niceties is a waste. I bought my 94 Ranger in April 96 for just over $20K.
Its paid for now, and I can't afford a change. I still run it 40 miles one way on KY/Barkley in April for my fishing and I have no worries.
I would personally go with a Skeeter I. Skeeter's have a great ride, and the performance to go with it. But, thats just my personaly preference. Get what you like. Drew
Both are great boats, I like the Skeeter for obvious reasons. But look at the Ranger Cup vs. The Skeeter Reel Money. Win a Skeeter sanctioned tournament and get $3,000 out of an I-Class. Compare that to others and it's not close....I'll give you a hint, it's at least $2,500 more than other companies.
