    The ride of a triton?????

I have never been in a triton just wondering if they ride as good as a ranger? I looked at one at boat show this weekend. Thinking about trading for one

Re: The ride of a triton?????

I have a triton 21X and perhaps my opinion isn't as valuable as someone who has ridden or driven a triton without owning it. I am very pleased withe the ride of my boat. I had a triton tr18 before getting the 21X. The 18 was a good ride, but just wanted a larger boat when the lakes are a little rough. I have ridden in Rangers, and Stratos boats and all the larger boats ride well. The Triton is a little faster if set up right, but since I am not into the speed thing, that isn't an issue with me. When I bought my boat,in 2004, Tritons were a little bit less expensive than Rangers. Now, they are all overpriced I think. The 21X takes the big, rough water very well and is comfortable with the shock absorbing seats. I couldn't be happpier, but I am sure other brand owners can say the same for their boats. If you are serious about a boat purchase, I suggest you ride in diffrent brands and choose the one you like. I don't think you will go wrong on whichever boat you choose. When you are spending the kind of money that boats cost today, better get what you like, not what someone else likes. JMO

I own neither but I have rode in several of each. The Tritons seem to "walk" more that similar boats. Even after being worked on. To me it seems you have to pay more attention to your driving in a triton.

Re: The ride of a triton?????

I had a new 21x w/ 225 opti loaned to me while my LU was being repaird (bearings locked up). Fished a tournament on KY Lake and was really not impressed with the ride at all. We were going with the waves, maybe 2 ft'ers at the most if that, and the boat seemed to get thrown around alot mostly from side to side.....And it was not chime walk. It had the SRS seats as well. I did run the boat on some flat water the day before WOT at 74 gps but I was solo, with no tackle, and 1/4 tank of gas.....no chimewalk.

Dont get me wrong, it was a great boat. I was just not impressed with the ride at all, dissappointed actually.

In my opinion, if you want a sweet riding boat, take a hard look at the Bullet 21xdc. Smooth DRY ride. And if you want a ride in one on KY Lake just let me know.

Re: The ride of a triton?????

I have owned 2 Tr-20x boats a 05 and a 06. I work for Plapps so I might be a little bias. However I can tell you this, The Triton is the best riding boat I have ever been in Period. I have had the privelage to drive many different boats , but for rough water ride you cant beat a Triton. Yes they do chine walk some, but this is nothing a little seat time and proper set up cant cure. The reason they chine walk is also the reason they ride so well in rough water. If you have any questions Please feel free to give me a call.

Care to explain that one????? Not trying to start any games here but that is an odd statement.

To answer your question, there is not much difference between the Stratos and Javelin. Same designer or something to that effect, cant remember at the moment.

They are nice boats. I have a 21' Skeeter and I think that it rides a little better than a 21' Triton. The Triton has twice the storage room as my Skeeter does. But as far as the ride goes I don't think it is even close. It is just opinion. Someone may disagree with me.

Talking Re: The ride of a triton?????

I have a Tr 196 and to me this is the best boat I have ever ridden in as far as performance, riding comfort, safe handling and just down right pure safe and secure boat when riding in rough water. I've owned a Skeeter and a Nitro and ridden in just about every style boat out on the market in the last 20 years of fishing tournaments when I could. But none compare to my Triton, wouldn't ever buy another brand, especially never a Ranger....

As good as you can put it, right there in a nutshell.
