Had a few nights similar to this last year between Wolf Creek and Levinworth. The sheer amount of these fish in the rivers now is so scary. We see them by the hundreds.
Shooting one of these mamoths can only be compared to deep sea fishing. They are SOOOOOO Strong. I use 808 Zebco and 4003 Synergy reels w/ 200# fast flight w/ a short 18" long rod extension. They will wear you out that's for sure.
The concentrations of Bigheads and Silver carp below Ky and Barkley dams has grown to such large concentrations the size of the fish get smaller each year. 6-7 years ago you could shoot 40-50# fish down there....now they are all ave. 25#, but 2 guys can shoot over 50 in a night. They are just stacked on top of one another. You always find the large fish on the outskirts of their populations. We're shooting big fish below Louisville now and I've seen them as far up as Markland Dam. I've heard of bigheads in Cinci.

The silvers are the jumpers and are scary! Ky and Barkley lakes are now having boaters being hit in the main lake areas...Soon we will be as bad as the Illinois river...check out this video.....this is what we see all over now....Scary!!!
