    Tim the older motors do use more oil, they also dump more oil in the water. Thats the reason all manufactuers went to direct injection(ficht,opti's,hpdi's)
    Govt regs on pollution have increased,they are more enviromentally friendly and in some cases get better mileage

    It can be expensive to fish, but you can also fish cheap. I think a bigger problem is competition for fishing space on the lakes and streams. As far as boats go, I have had as much fun fishing out of a canoe as fishing from an expensive bassboat. Also catching your own bait can be fun too and that saves money. I will always find a way to fish regardless of the expense.
