Re: need info on elmer davis lake!!

When did it change, I use to fish it with my boat with 150hp and idle around. You couldn't or wasn't suppose to power load with big motor though. They use to have a bunch of tournaments up there and everybody there was in bass boats. That lake is not what it used to be but you can still catch the gills and shellcrackers. Thay are not the size of days gone by unfortunately. Good luck and tell us how you did if you go. That's one little lake I can actually get my wife to go with me to because she loves to fish for panfish.

Havefished this lake many times, As with most lakes it can be great at times. Never pan fished , but do a lot of bass fishing on the lake. Have seen 1 8 lb. and many 4-5 pounders come out of the lake.

It is 9.9 with as many homes as there are on the lake you will get reported if you run a bigger motor. You can go as fast as you like with a 9.9.Say hello to Granny when you pay your launch fees.

I just got a copy of the Kentucky Fishing Map Guide that they sell at Wal-Mart, and it's got some info on this lake. There are three spots listed as being good for bass: the deep water starting just offshore from the launch and extending down to the dam, along the shore just across from the launch (on your right as you head towards the dam), and along the right bank just north of the launch. If you hang a left off the launch and head out the east fork past where it drops below 20 ft. deep, you come to an inlet on the right that has piles of Christmas trees along the shore. This is allegedly a good panfish spot.

I'm looking forward to checking out this lake myself. Maybe I'll see ya out there! I'll be in a little 14' runabout with a redhead in the front seat.

I know of some lake here in Ohio with hp restrictions. If you're engine is over you must remove your prop or you're in violation...
