Yo-Zuri Hybrid has been my line of choice for about 4 yrs. Only downfall is more memory in higher tests (20+). Used to use p-line and it started breaking on the hookset, went to Vanish and that seemed to be what was happening to my baits on the cast, tried Seagar and if I got the slightest kink in it, it would break in that spot in a short time. Seen a lot of lines in my time.....bring back Fenwick River Line. JM2CTS.
Have tried most of them and best for me so far has been the Gamma. It is also the highest priced. I had the same problems with breakage using Vanish and P-Line. With Carbon Pro I just had to change the line every other week. Could have been something I was doing wrong, I don't know. But since switching to Gamma I have had no break offs during the hook set and I can go half the year without having to change the line on the spool. I also don't use a palomar knot. It could just be me but any other knot besides a palomar works best for me. I use a double uni 99% of the time. And if I am using 8lb or less then I use a Trilene knot.
I have a spool of the new Daiwa Steez line but have not had a chance to try it. I got it at Plapps and it is less expensive than the Gamma.
I like P-line havnt got to try the Halo yet but have been impressed with my Floro and use it on most everything now. I use a Polymor knot cause I think the more friction you have in a knot the more it will weakin your knot, make sure your wetting your knots good cause if you dont your line breaks so much easier. For you guys that say its to expensive use backing cause the line is worth it and you will get more bites.
I am telling you guys, if you get the chance, try the Vicious line. Check out their website. I am not making anything off this, I just really like their stuff.

Last year I switched to the P-Line fluro-clear on all my crappie rigs, but I seemed to be getting a lot less strikes than fellows in the same boat with me. Sure that is how it goes some days, but this was using the same bait, color, size, etc and happened on multiple occasions.
Not blaming the line, but it was the only non-common denominator. I need to start restringing soon so I'll probably go back to the ole 4 lb trilene.![]()
