Andy,
Well good deal then, you and I have a lot in common.....I get my MEng in May from U of L's Speed School of Engineering and then my P.E. after a couple more years of the required work experience.....
Where do you fish at? It's a wonder our paths haven't crossed yet.....
Can you explain what the original concern was about lowering the lake below 680 and a possible collapse of a cave underneath the dam??? I read somewhere that it was agreed that a lowering below 680 would increase the potential for a collapse of the underlying caverns...............is it that they are grouting those caverns right now to prevent the collapse so that a lowering to 650 can be done?
From what I've read, the lowering to 650 will not happen until next year. The COE issued a letter to surrounding water districts and the power plants that a lowering to 650 is in the future and that they need to make alterations to be prepared for it come next year.
