    College Angling on TV

    Hey everyone,

There's a television show on Fox College Sports Network that covers a college tournament that was held on Lewisville Lake in Texas. The show airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST and on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST.

Several teams from Kentucky colleges competed and are on the show......

Previously aired shows are available to watch at:

Well come on then! We need some new members! Heck, we need one with a boat in the worst way!

Hey, be sure and come see us at the Bass Pro Shops Spring Fishing Classic! We'll be there on March 3rd and 4th working the Kids Fishing Pond!

I'll drop by and say "hey".

Still savin' up for the boat, we've got a "family" boat, but it's not the best for fishin' out of, more of a run about. Want a bass boat in a big way, but gotta save $$$ for a while before I get there! So all I'd need to do is take a night class???

Do you know if that channel is available here locally? I couldn't find it...

    Re: College Angling on TV

I think it might be on cable....I don't know for sure, I haven't been home yet to see - just found out about it this morning!

I hear ya about saving money! It's easier said than done! It took me forever to save up for my 2000 Ranger R93 that I bought in early January of this year! I had been running an 1987 Aries 168 Bass with a 115 hp Suzuki on it for the past eight years.....her hull was really starting to get "squishy" and I couldn't wait to stop hearing, "does that Suzuki like white rice or brown rice?"

Going to college full time and working as many hours as possible during the week and fishing as much as possible on the weekends sure makes time fly by! If it wasn't for all that working and college education, I certainly would not have that Ranger today! If you want something bad enough, all you have to do is put your mind to it!

Lucky for me, mom purchased the "family" boat (a pontoon), so I've never had to listen to any complaining about getting to go on the lake! Of course, I love borrowing the "family" boat for those parties on the lake during holiday weekends! Those holiday weekends totally put the brakes on any bass fishing I do on Ky Lake!

What kind of bass boat are you saving up for?

One that costs around $3-4K... and I've got $0.00 saved thus far... LOL! Hey, anytime you wanna show me how slick your new boat is, let me know, ha ha ha! Seriously though, sounds nice! Anyways, I'll save up for it eventually, or win it over at Caesars! LOL!

I hear ya on the pontoon boat (makes for a real nice party boat), that's what I was hoping for as the "family" boat, but everyone (but me) decided on the runabout, but hey, I can't complain. It's a boat. We normally keep it on the Ohio north of town on the IN side for 6 mos. or so, docked for easy/quick access.

Anyways, I think if I saved up about $4K, I should be able to get a decent used bass boat. From what I've seen out there anyways... now, saving $4K, that is definately easier said than done!

    Ain't that the truth! LOL!

    Danny,

I was able to watch it online... and yeah, more fishing would've been cool (instead of the guys' from NC St. house). I don't think I get that channel on digital cable here, but at least I can catch the shows online. It's not too bad online, not as good as tv, but not too bad either.

    Hey horsefly,

I saw where you said you might win enough over at ceasars... got an idea. When ever you get that gambling urger, take however much you would set aside to spend on the night of gambling, and put it into your checking account. Then start an Orange direct savings account, which pays nearly 5%, and you have access to your money 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. All you have to do is go online and transfer the money back into your checking account. You will see you can save your 3-4K very quickly this way.

    Good luck,

    Danny

    Re: College Angling on TV

I hear ya buzzking.......our two guys zeroed the first day, then had one fish the second day, however as soon as they opened the livewell it jumped out and found freedom! Talk about bad luck! They couldn't get a thing to go their way!

Oh well, neither had fished a tournament until last spring - but they certainly learned a lot in Texas! Heck, that's what college angling is all about; learning! If it hadn't been for the U of L club, probably neither one would have known what tournament angling is all about and I might not have met them either! Both are a blast to fish with and a lot of fun! They're planning on going again to Texas this year to redeem themselves. Hopefully we'll be able to send another team with them this year, just in case that dark cloud of bad luck decides to follow them again!
