I have a 96 evinrude 175 possibly with the original water pump. no trouble but was wondering if you should change them periodicaly. or how long one is supposed too last
I would have a shop replace the rubber impeller in the water pump from time to time. It's cheaper to replace it than to have to replace your entire motor. Have them check the Thermostat at the same time to make sure it's working.
The rubber impeller can fail and dry rot over time.
Might go to www.iboats.com and see what they have to say
