I have a 14ft extra wide flat bottom jon boat with a 25 horse evinrude. I've been up and down the river without any trouble at all. Above Burksville a fiberglass is not an option when the generation schedule is normal. Heck, I've had to get out and drag my boat over gravel bars just to get down river...of course if I lost a little weight then maybe I wouldn't have too.
