These photos are of the first (upstream most) island across the lake from Lowgap Island, near the mouth of Beaver/Otter. The piece of ground with all the stumps is the submerged hump next to the island, marked in the summer with a buoy. Most of the stumps are entangles with a lot of fishing line.

The main lake from Jamestown down to the dam still feels the same. I am "guessing" on average there is only about 200' in width difference from what people are accustomed to in the summer as the banks are relatively steep. Up the creeks and at the upper end of the lake... I guess that is a different story.
