Re: Louisville lakes to be stocked Tuesday 3/6

I just promised my wife I'd take her and the girls Saturday since I've been out of town all week. Please help me decide which lake gives us the best chance to catch some and where, and what anyone has been successful using. I am leaning toward cherokee, due to the handicap access. any others have it? Its either that or Sauger if the river is down, I haven't checked. I need to get some brownie points to keep momma happy. I assume you need a trout stamp, but that is only if you are gonna keep them, right?

At Miles , Lake # 4 is stocked. I caught two yesterday on small spinners. One was a new stocking about 8/9 inches and one was 14 inches. Must have been a leftover from last year.

Miles is my favorite local park to fish, but you mentioned handicapped access, and there's certainly none there. Trying to get somebody in a wheelchair down to the water there would be a nightmare. Long Run is another story. There's a little cement platform right next to the water, next to the boat ramp, that has a picnic table on it, that you could easily get to and from. It's a pretty popular spot to fish from, but hopefully anybody who's already there would have the decency to make room for a handicapped person. The fishing there is slower than other lakes, but I have personally seen decent catfish, bass, and crappie caught out of there within the past year. Cast as far as you can off the picnic table, maybe 10 degrees to the right. I don't know what's down there in the water, but crappie seem to congregate there. And hopefully you'll get there right after they clean up the goose do-do. If you're closer to Fairdale, Tom Wallace Lake would be good. It has a fishing pier jutting out into it, and if memory serves, there are sidewalks and ramps leading right up to it, and handicapped parking. Hope this helps.
