Re: 10 pound Smallie at Dale!!!!

It's a catch 22. If people would stop using the KY board as a catch-all for anything and everything and make a better effort to post in the appropriate forums, then those other forums would get more traffic.

Again, what I find most curious is the criticism of a free service.

    Well said gurl. Catch 22.

Who knows what the best way to organize this thing is. Just givin it our best shot..time allowed.

Opinions are welcome. Most, if not all changes have been the result of a person on the board asking for the change. Some of you guys and girls know a lot more about the board than I do..for sure.

Somehow I missed it too elnut that your brother-in-law had passed away... sorry man... and even never meeting you, as mhall says, since being here since last year, I feel like I know a lot of the fellas on here too. Kinda cool. Anyways, my condolences to you and yours.

My 2 cents on the board issue being discussed, it doesn't really bother me that much if OT (off topic) posts are made (especially if folks use the format of titling the post "OT: Subject here"). That's kind of board etiquette I suppose. JMHO.

P.S. GO BIG BLUE!!! (Couldn't resist, no disrespect meant)

Peter, most on here and me included have made a concertive effort to thank you and Jim for the free service you supply us with. Therefore I think I speak for many when I say we aren't a bunch of unappreciative ingrates hopefully. I think if given some thought by you, in this specific case maybe the post did apply and should have been left alone. As you have seen from prior posts two people, myself included missed his post somehow. Some support from his fishing pals could help a guy hurting during this tragic time for his family. In closing, thanks for all that fishin.com provides and it is alway's appreciated. Fishrboy, back off and have a heart, you made your point.

So if we're giving opinions on this, then I think it makes a lot more sense to put posts in the appropriate forums - off topic, tournament, pictures...whatever is applicable.

It seems to me that if I wanted info on a tournament, it would be a lot easier to go to a tournament forum rather than wade through some highly unorganized clutter on one board to find it.

I realize some people view it differently, but that's just my opinion.

Re: 10 pound Smallie at Dale!!!!

Fishrgurl, I agree 100 percent but the real problem is that we are all lazy and set in our ways AND ONLY HAVE ONE BOARD IN OUR FAVORITES. We forget to go to Off Topic, the Community Tacles Box, the Boat baord, etc. And that is true whether we are looking or posting.

Peter, I think part of the problem is that the way it is now, people know that if they start a thread on the KY Fishing Board even if it gets moved people will notice it because the moderators leave the thread on the KY Board and it says MOVED. That is why I posted about the 82 year old vet on the Off Topic board and then made a post on the KY board to see the off topic board.

I think all inappropriate threads should be moved to the appropriate board and then deleted entirely from the KY Board. And do it consistantly with any post that doesn't belong EVEN IF IT IS FROM A SPONSOR OR A MODERATOR. It if doesn't belong for Elnut or for me--it doesnt belong for Jim Dicken or Matt Plapp.

Once EVERYONE knows that inapproriate posts won't be tolerated CONSITANTLY ACROSS THE BOARD, they will post in the correct place and people will start looking at more boards then just the KY fishing board.

    Thats my opinion,

    Grumpy

I agree with fishrgurl 100%. Just put the post in the appropriate forum. You were not singled out or slammed. You received a ton of support and it's time to let it go. There is no need to get on a moderator for following procedure even if they missed one or two in the past.
I could understand your pain but didn't enjoy reading about your venting on church going folks and your view of religion on your last post. You went to far in my opinion. Why didn't you just email Peter and vent on him and let it go?
