Did anyone watch the story of Lake Cumberland on KET last night. I just caught the tail end of it. They went from the making of the lake and history of the area to the modern day lake. I emailed KET to request another airing.

Man, I didn't know it was on!I would have loved to have seen it. Lot of family history for me around the building of Lake Cumberland. My grand parents and great grand parents had a family farm near the fall creek area. The government bought them out then took the roofs off all the buildings then flooded the lake. My family, but mainly my grand mother used to run the ferry boat across the river near there when she was a little girl. I did a paper on it when I was in college and really learned alot about the river. They used to grow hemp for rope and my grand father used to talk about all the trapping he did on the river as well as hunting and other farming activities near fall creek. In addition, my uncle was a part of opening and running both Beaver Creek and Conley Bottom docks back when it first opened. He has a picture of him on the first (so he says) house boat on Lake Cumberland. It's kinda funny looking as it looks like a house trailer, lol. The picture has him inside frying bacon with his shirt off. Must of been tough to handle all that grease hitting him, lol.
Anyway, I would have loved to have seen it. Please post the information if they plan to air it again. Thanks.
Iwatched this on KET several months ago. If anyone gets a chance to see this it is well worth it. Very interesting from start to finish. I especially liked the part where they figured it would take a few years to fill up, and it was full in the first spring. A very good show!!
Just checked the KET website and as usual, last night was the last broadcast date listed. This is a shame with all that's going on down there. There is a Contact Us listed at the bottom of the home page, so if enough folks are interested and send an e-mail in, they may set up another airing schedule.
I have sent an e-mail showing interest of a re-broadcast. If you do not want to go through the KET site to send an e-mail, e-mail me and i will forward an e-mail address to you. Would not want to post his e-mail on here.
I saw it and really enjoyed it alot.
Why not just buy the DVD or Vhs tape? They have been for sale all around the Lake for quite awhile. I'm sure if you did a search you could probably find it online.
