Places to stay on KY Lake

Going down to KY Lake for my first guided trip with Dave Stewart 3/31!!! WOO-HOO!!! (Yeah, I'm excited!)

Anyways, I'm planning on heading down there on Friday afternoon and leaving either Saturday after the trip or Sunday afternoon (might rent a bass boat down there on Sunday to practice what I've learned on Saturday with Dave).

Looking for accomodations... anyone have ideas for me? I've seen lots of places to stay but have never been and thought some of you fellas here could point me in the right direction. Let me know what you guys on here think is a good place to stay. Thanks in advance!

Never stayed there but a lot of people talk about how nice the Moors resort is. We usually stay at Kenlake resort. It is also has pretty nice cottages. We are going to be there April 5th and there are not a lot of rooms left so you should be calling soon.

Probably the cheapest and closest place is the "Inn by the Lake"

It's an old Ramada Inn, so the rooms aren't 100% new, but they are very clean and comfortable. Plus, it has the only bar within 25 miles of Ky Dam and usually has a band play on the weekend.....I tend to frequent that place a lot! It's always a good time! Better make your reservations early, it's a very very popular place with fisherman, mainly because there is plenty of parking and electrical plug-ins for your boat, and also because the bar has a great name - "Anglers"!

I was down there last fall and stayed at Moors Resort. Really nice, good view, walked to the resteraunt and marina. Peaceful and relaxing. I also went out with Dave Stewart while I was there. We didn't catch many fish but It was by far the most informative fishing trip I have ever had. What really sold me was the service at the Moors and with Dave. He even stayed past our time to go in just so my girlfriend could catch a fish. Good luck on your trip and I hope it will be as relaxing for you as it was for me.. Vance

It was a tough day for us Vance...hopefully we will have a much better fall bite this year than it was last year. I did really enjoy the day with you all though and am looking forward to the next time. Thanks for the kind words.

Looking forward to the trip also Jason. Looking at your hobbies in your profile I would say you will like Inn by the Lake...lol. If for some reason they are booked let me know...there are actually 3 more bars I can think of in the Kuttawa area that are a lot closer than 25 miles. One of them has a Day's Inn and another chain motel located adjacent to it and the food is good as well as the bar...lol.
