    Fishing Billboard

Has anyone seen this billboard yet???

    http://www.fishinghurts.com/feat-dogfish.asp?c=1509&gclid=COv-97_C5YoCFSWHPgodBHWC3g

How in the world could you compare a dog to a fish?! It's ridiculous!

I swear, those people need to find a better use of their time and resources! Rather than wasting money on these type of campaigns they should be out restoring habitat or contributing to a worthy cause. Oh well, anyone else have any thoughts on this stuff?

Most ridiuclous line I have ever read is in that story: "When it comes to feelings, a child is a dog is a fish". News flash, if you think a fish or a dog are just as important as my children, you best never say it within range of me!

That is Naturalism at its best. When you believe there is no creator, no purpose for creation, and that this whole complicated world just happened into being then you can put dogs and fish and children on the same level. This add simply puts them in the same category because it says they feel pain the same way. PETA actually goes a litte further into this. I was preaching through Genesis last year and we began with creation. While studying and researching I came across this quote from Ingrid Newkirk, she is Peta's founder.

"There is no rational basis for saying that a human has special rights... A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy." This appeared in the Washington post BUT LISTEN TO THIS, this was in the same article where she compared and said that killing animals for food was worse than what Hitler did to the Jews... "Six million Jews died in concentration camps, but six BILLION broiler chickens will die this year in the slaughterhouse."

Even with religious and theological views aside on this one - to compare boys to fish and to say that KFC is worse than Hitler is just - well there's no word to describe it.

Just thought I would pass this along.

But the sad part is those people that do not hunt or fish do not see any diffrence so they send there money to PETA to get them to stop fishing and hunting and they need a tax right off anyway so they think they have a worthy cause!

What amazes me is the "marine biologist" that is quoted. From what I've read, the bass have no nerve endings that can be found in the area around the mouth. Think of it this way, if sharp things hurt them, I'm sure they would not eat many crawfish!!!

Secondly, just the plain science of how developed the brain is clearly points out just how a fish will feel pain.

Now if we were to accept their opinion though, we should consider opening a season on the members of their organization. If they consider a person as equal to a fish, I'm sure they won't mind us catching a few of them, and then I bet they hope we exercise catch and release.

All that said, I don't agree with killing any animal just to be killing it.... but you know what? I live in the country and we do set mouse traps.

I wonder how those Peta folks feel about cockroaches, rats, mice, etc.... and I wonder what they wear and eat? Some say there is a living force that connects all living things, and that includes vegetation. Dang those guys would have to be pretty darn skinny.

    LMAO

I enjoyed your post on this and it gives excellent examples as to why these people are complete wacko's.

So there are no Christian members of PETA? With all due respect, sir, belief in evolution does not mean that you don't value human life over that of animals, nor does being a creationist automatically mean that you do.

I am guessing that most of these people are vegans (SP). They don't eat anything that was once living and their clothing is 100% cotton. With that being said they are all a bunch of wacko's. Ryan.

My wife has always said "that there are some sick puppies in this world" and she was NOT talking about the dog. I now have to agree with her on that and knows what she meant.

I don't personally know any members of PETA, but I do know their world view goes against a biblical/christian worldview and it seems it would be hard for a Christian to embrace both. I do know Christians who belong to other animal rights groups who simply love animals and want to see them cared for, but PETA is an extreme. I would love to hear an explanation from a Christian member of PETA who believes the concentration camps and the chicken farms are on the same level.

I also know atheist and evolutionist who have a high regard for the sanctaty of human life. I didn't mean to make an absolute statement and I apologize if it came across that way. I was just saying that when you hold to a naturalist world view, that system of beliefs allows for the views of PETA and its founder. Thanks for pointing that out.

Want to see some true in the lies Pita (prefered spelling cause they are a pain in the ***) spreads? Check out:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9ijLulwUTY

From the Penn and Teller show Bull****. They make some very good points. Add to that the recent court case where those wackos were charged with euthenizing (sp?) dogs, and you can see that their interest is not really in helping animals.
