I replaced some Shimano spinning reals with Okumas last year and have been very satified with them. I got the ones Dicks has most of the time for around $30. Lots less than new Shimano's would have cost.

I was on ebay a few minutes ago and saw that the fishing side is flooded with Okuma reels. I've never had a chance to throw one and was wandering if any of you guys have?

I used a frew Okuma line counters for a couple of seasons. The drags weren't much and they really didn't hold up that well, but I'm kind of rough on them. Ya get what ya pay for.
I bought an Okuma Spinning Reel at the One Stop in December for my G Loomis FNF rod that Mike, aka 3Sons, so graciously gave me as a gift (thanks again) and love it. 10 ball bearings with smooth drag, cast very well, nice balance. From what I got to use it this past winter, excellent spinning reel.
