Got out with Billy this morning at O'Dark-Ugly...was so excited to get out that I missed the turn off 627 and drove us about 436 miles farther than we had too.
The ramp was decent...still a bit tricky and you need to hit it at the right place, but it's all good. It looked like progress was being made on the bait shop.
The water was stained, running 44-45 degrees, with some current...windy in places, calm in others, depending on the topography. The sun came out a time or two, but it finally started raining pretty good as we left. We also saw several dying shad...some were small, some were bigguns.
Had some pulldowns on the FNF that come unbuttoned...I caught a real nice crappie on a deadlined hair jig (though the picture must not have taken, because it wasn't on my camera when I got home!)...had another one come off. Billy caught a largemouth under the bobber. All in all, a slow day of activity, but so nice to get out on the water. The fish just weren't in the mood.

Oh yeah, fish are holding in deep water, tucked in tight and relating to shoulder pads. LMAO!!

Sidenote: The steering on my boat went completely out...bye-bye...no steering. It decided to do this in a curve. Suddenly it was like turn 4 at Daytona and I was heading for the wall. I killed the motor, but still had momentum with no steering. Luckily, crisis was avoided...but it was a serious situation there for a second...Billy engineered my steering mechanism back together and it got us back to the truck. Much obliged for that, because I couldn't have fit my big butt under the console to work on it, much less figure it out in the first place.
