for spring break this year me and some family are going to one of these lakes and i was wondering which one is better for crappie and bass, thanks
Couple questions
1) Do you have your own boat...if so I suggest Ky lake...Reelfoot is hard on lower units. If your gonna rent Reelfoot has some nice deals
2) Reelfoot has some nice hybrids and yellow bass to. Crappie are good but not as big as Ky Lake. But its a kewl lake.
Which ever you choose you can't go wrong...good luck
Carl
both lakes are great for crappie. but imo reel foot lake is a great lake to fish. and yes rent the boats there are alot of stumps in that lake i tool my tracker down last year and could use my big motor but trimed all the way up but we got like 60 nice fish from 16 to 19 inch range.
yes we do have our own boats,so it would be better to go to ky lake?and i dont know from experience but isnt ky lake better bass fishing, might be wrong
Reelfoot is very shallow and you will hit alot of stumps. No way around it. Crappie fishing can be unbelievable when they are turned on but they turn off very easily if a cold front or something hits. Kentucky is much more predictable. Ky has usually been better for me bass fishing also. But make a trip to Reelfoot sometime anyway. It is a beautiful lake, just watch the lower unit.
ill definatly keep that in mind because we have the WORST motor problems ever, jus got the bass boat back from having the motor rebuilt, lol
