I recently started tying my own jigs. Every thing is awesome except the weedguards. I cant glue them into place. The super glue i am using is leaking on down the weedguard and making it useless. Please help me

Go to Wally World and in the boating section they have a two part marine epoxy it works well.
Or you could just buy a bunch of punisher jig heads, those twin wire guards are the best I have found, the nylon ones need to be trimed sometimes so that the hooks can penetrate, not so with the punisher jig heads, I dont own stock, just like the jigs, and they in my opinion are the best made. You can add skirts, and trim them, and add chunks, and they still hook fish.
I make my own jigs as well. I've found that drilling out the powder paint and useing superglue gel works best. also try putting the weedguard in upside down, with the melted end out then trim to the length you want. hope this helps....

thanks guys..... I work at wal-mart so ill try the marine epoxy. do you guys think that putting the 3-d eyes on your jigs make a difference? I made a bunch of the poison tail models and they have the socket for adding a eye.?
I use them on my poison tail jigs, about the only jig i do'nt use them on all the time is the float n fly jigs, the more life like the better
Thanks guys for all the advice. I have ordered skirts from barlows and stamina. Does anyone know where i can get the No 13 green pumpkin skirts that D and L has? I know that Backwaters has a patent on the oops skirt. Im just looking for some diffrent colors.
Id think the glue gun would be eaiser to use than the 2 part epoxy, it sets up pretty fast, if your doing more than 3 or 4 at a time an inexspensive glue gun would be worth the effort.
