Heard one Sat. while fishing at T-Ville he propably gobbled for a good 2 hours, and heard one this morning behind my house, too bad the cold weather coming in is going to slow em down for the youth hunt this weekend.
Yeah this weather doesn't look good. Plan on taking my son this weekend to try and get his first turkey. I am afraid this cold front may shut them down, but we are going to give it a try on Saturday morning.
They are gobbling their heads off on Ft Knox.
Kind of new at turkey hunting, how does the cold effect the gobblers?
Salt Craw, this was my first epxerience hunting them in the cold. From things I have read and heard from others, it appears the cold didn't have as much of an affect as I thought. I do believe the wind gives them lockjaw, and as I tiold my son yesterday, I have not had much luck hunting silent birds. I am just not patient enough or something.
