Re: Internal or External GPS Antenna

I bought the Lowrance 520c which has external antenna. The guy at Bass pro told me they get a lot of the internal back for repairs.

The external can be shared on Lowrance units, giving you two GPS for the price of a GPS and a sonar.

Re: Internal or External GPS Antenna

I have the 520c and I like it . I put the antenna only about 5 inches away from the unit and it set next to the console. Sometimes it has a hard time reading. So I will move the antenna to the back of the boat and this should solve the problem. I went with the external antenna because if you tilt the unit very much you will lose the reading at least that is what I am told.
