I have one. Me and a buddy were going after the hybrids one last time, had done turned cold, real late one evening. I had to drive my old farm truck that the emergency brake doesn't work on. My buddy didn't feel comfortable backing it down, the old truck had some issues. So I backed it down and put my FORD emergency brake on(block of wood with a rope attached that I loop on my door handle). I climp back to the boat and start it up and unhook the boat from the trailer. I realize the trailer needs to be alittle further in the water and as I am climbing back up to the truck I notice that the truck is moving backwards slowly closer to the water. Starting to get worried, I hurry up and get in the truck and apply the brake. The front tire had apparently run over my FORD emergency brake(block of wood on a rope) so when I give a little gas to pull up a bit, the block of wood shoots out from under the tire and snaps my door handle off. Shocked and amazed, my buddy and I were talking about it when I look back and notice my boat is no longer on my trailer. My boat is out in the middle of the marina idling, with it freezing cold outside. I went ahead and parked the truck and trailer and was trying to get a game plan together. I had about decided to go swimming after it when I noticed that it seemed to be getting a little closer and closer. I grabbed some ropes and my block of wood with the rope attached and went back to the dock at the ramp. The boat finally got close enough that we were able to toss my block of wood in it and assist it over to us.
We went ahead and fished but didn't do any good at all. To sum it up, Broke a door handle, lost my boat and almost my truck and trailer, and also had a bad nite fishing.
That was one nite I should have stayed home.
Do we get any kind of award for doing the stupidest stuff?
