    Re: mcneely lake

ive been there several times for about 1/2 hour to an hour at a time just in passing and havent caught anything or seen anything caught yet. I'm sure the lake is still cool and the fish are probally in the wooded, deeper, more inaccessalbe portion down by the dam. I dont know if they stock it or not, but I do know the lake does hold a tremendous population of fish after the renovation some years ago.

If you guys see a bald guy in a faded red Coleman canoe, say hi. That would be me. I don't fish it often but we do take the canoe there quite often because it is close. My 11-year-old son takes it out by himself as I watch from the bank and that freaks people out sometimes, but he is wearing his life jacket and has pretty much grown up paddling that thing.

Keep us informed...my dad and I went there last year and caught a few bluegill, but I'd love to drop my little boat in and catch a few bass there. I grew down there when it was fields and woods. NO golf course on the other side! Boy, things have changed around that area.

I will probably take my son out for a few hours Saturday morning. I will give a report, but I am sure he will be fishing and I will be in the back with a paddle serving as his trolling motor LOL!
