its been sold, it will be expanded to handle the houseboats etc. I think it was purchased by some dock ownners from Cumberland lake possibly Jamestown dock, by the name of Webb, the later may be wrong but it has been sold.

I heard from a friend of mine that the State Park ramp (and I guess the dockstore) has been sold to a private outfit. Have any of you guys heard anything of this? I hope that this is not true as I hate the thought of having to pay anything to put my boat in. Fishing is expensive enough without that crap!

You are correct, I heard a 200 slip expansion. Phoenix has more details.
Same Web that bought the Jamestown Boatdock and knocked down a goverment owned island to build a resort. Dale will probably never bee the same. It will probably end up like Cumberland with a Houseboat in every cove with ropes tied to prevent acess to fishermen. A Jet Ski on every good fishing spot. Now doubt the state will improve the road and property value will sky rocket in that area if this is true. Regular fishermen at Dale will be in for a surprise when they bring in the huge house boats that are so popular on Cumberland. So its good for Webs pockets, houseboaters, jet skiers but not so good for fishermen.
Thanks for the responses although that was not exactly what I wanted to hear.
yes they did.Thank God I dont have that many years left. there are fewer and fewer public fishing areas in this country. But if you want to see what could happen if the goverment ever sold these corp lakes to a private concern, just look at some lakes in Georgia, houses abutting each other, boat docks within feet of each other, and very few free ramps. Solitude! hah.
