    Monroe

Anyone have any info on Monroe? Water temps? I bet it's a big mudhole right now. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, cbass. I was there on Sunday. For anyone who is interested, I found some 60 degree water by afternoon.

Pretty slow. About a 15 boat tournament and eight fish were weighed.

We were there Sunday as well. We had 13 and 5 were keepers. Nothing big, our biggest was 16" and the other 4 keepers were 14"-15" The size dwindled from last Sunday, but the numbers encreased.

    Re: Monroe

I didn't check the water temp when I went to Monroe on Sunday, but we did catch quite a few crappie (mostly small, but a few nice ones) coming in from a creek channel. Also caught a decent catfish (quite by accident). Only one bass, about 10 inches long (but I didn't spend a lot of time fishing for them since I had the family with me). Bass fishing has been slow for me there the past year or so. The previous year was pretty good.

Louis, was you back in saddle creek? I saw a couple with their children yanking crappie after crappie out of a tree top. We also saw a couple fellas boat a 6lbr. from a spot we just left, or it looked to be about 6lbs. They were in a white Triton......

    Re: Monroe

    Ray,
Actually, we were back in Saddle Creek, but we were in a Bass Tracker. The bigger crappie were a bit further out over submerged cover just off the creek channel. I try to avoid those visible tree tops at Monroe.
The sole bass and the catfish were pretty shallow, though, fyi.
