Aside from that, I think that if a person is operating withing the regulations of the KDFWR, I'm fine with them keeping fish if they choose to. If they want to eat bass, and they do it legally, who are we to say they shouldn't. I don't buy the argument that bass do not taste good because they are in the same family as bluegill and crappie (sunfish family).
I agree. IMHO, bass has a delicious, delicate flavor. I remember, 'cuz I ate one like 15 years ago :-) If I'm fishing where they're fairly plentiful, I'll keep one or two legal-sized teenagers. Any lunkers I'd throw back, since those are the breeders. Problem is, I just never seem to find those lakes. I'm no biologist, but it seems to me that thinning out a few medium-sized ones helps to eliminate competition for the forage, and might encourage growth of a BIG OLE HAWG.
