Sarted out last Thursday morning around the state park, fished crankbaits, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits. Water temps started out at 69 and fishing was great. Caught 6 nice KY's on spinnerbaits and jerkbaits on bluffs. Had 4.5 and 3.5 pound largemouth and lost one that looked like 6+ on crankbaits on transition banks. Then the fun started, put on a jig and we caught a double, one close to 5 and another close to 4. 3 casts later, biggest bass of my life, a beautiful female about to bust at 8 pounds 4 ounces. No camera in the boat and I decided to.............release her. No measurements, just weighed her and my partner and I looked at her, full of eggs and about to pop, and I let her swim off. Had several more fish in the 4 to 4.75 range and several more in the 2.5-3.5 range. In all, we caught 15 fish over 15 inches!! What a day!! My best day ever for a 5 or 6 fish limit. I have caught more 4 pound plus fish in a day at Cedar Creek but not a kicker like that 8-4. Hope someone else catches her and releases her also. Told a friend of mine where and what on and he went back on 3-31. He caught several fish but not many keepers.
Good fishing and see ya on the water,
