Hit Hardy on a PERFECT Friday, mainly just to make sure the boat still ran. I was surprised to find the water temp in the mid-60's already. I hadn't expected that and really wasn't rigged for such. Found LOTS of fish up in the shallows on the north-side mud flats. Just like you'd expect, find the water that's 1-degree warmer and you've found the fish. Didn't have much luck catching though, and I didn't see much from anyone else either. Quite a few people out fishing - the lot was over half full by mid-day.
One thing that irks me though.... The DNR started collecting gate fees at the parks on Friday. I had to get the "lake usage" (or whatever its called) permit, plus my annual park pass Friday morning, so I'm out $56 just to get in the place. How can they (with a straight face) ask me for money, yet not be able to have an open restroom available??? Yeah, I know....but try explaining gov't incompetence to a 9 year old....
