    Questions

Hi everyone, i have been fishing for years, but want to really start fishing lakes instead of ponds. As we all know anyone can catch fish in a pond. With the lakes still being down and slowly rising, what are the bass and crappie hitting on right now? morning and evening?

    Re: Questions

fishing ponds is not really much different than lakes,if i am going to fish a tournament at nolin rough or barren and can't pre fish alot of times i will hit a couple of my favorite ponds just too see what they are doing and sometimes it has helped me.If i can get them to hit a buzz bait on the banks the day before i'll try that at the tournament then adjust,if they are pulled to the middle of the ponds and suspended moe often than not they'll do the same thing.at the lakes,Since gas is high even though i lived on nolin and rough and know most all the cover,i still break down the areas i want to fish like a big pond and start with the likeliest places.I like to fish fast so as a rule i start fast and slow down if i have to.

    Re: Questions

I know the fish usually move throughout the lake, where are some of the most likely hot spots this time of the season?

    Re: Questions

they'll be around spawning areas from now til spawn then move back off to the first drop or contour change.it only takes a foot or two drop to satisfy them sometimes.watch the detailed fishing reports on here, you will notice the move. This cool spell will push them back from a few feet to the first ledge,if there is plenty of cover sometimes they just get deep in it until the change back to warm weather.i personally don't fish over 8ft deep until the middle of june, unless it's obvious they are gone.
