what kind of knot do you find works best?
Palomar on all slick lines and braids.
Part of the reason that P Line is so strong is that it is bigger diameter than other lines of the same lb test. Look at the diameter of any P Line and compare to same lb test of other brands and you will see it is larger. I always thought P Line was SUPER stong versus others, and it is, but it is due to being larger in diameter. I do agree with the Palomoar knot. I use it on EVERYTHING, including C-Rig and FNF leader and never had a problem and also agree that Mono or even Braid is better than Flouro due to it not sinking. You will get better action.
Elnuts..... how much did P line pay you to say all that stuff???? You're on their Pro Staff aren't you???? If not, you should be with all those 5 pound brown fish you caught on the FnF this past winter..... good to see you post and hope all is well..... when you coming down to DH??? DH is not just a FnF thing -- you can actually catch good ones all year long....... tight lines
Sorry Dover but I gave up P Line after the winter of 2005 due to its diameter. I started using Bass Pro XPS Flouro and love it even more than P Line. Yes, I have landed my fair share of 5 pound Brown fish on P Line but decided to change anyway. Won't be coming to Dale until night fishing heats up in June, July and August. Pretty much it is Winter and Night fishing for me at Dale chasing Brown fish. My spring and early summer is devoted to Ky Lake for Greenfish with the spring, flower bite and early ledge bite.
So what does everyone prefer? Flouro or mono? I am currently fishing P-Line Flouro-coated and XPS flouro and I am unsure if I like it. It seems to me that I caught more fish with my monofilament line. I believe I am going to change back to mono and see I produce more fish. I am just not sure or experienced enough to really tell the difference. I am not sure all the sensitivity advertisement of flouro is all it is cracked up to be...may just be a sales pitch...but if you believe it I guess it will work. Just like any other products I guess.
I have tried the Flouro but went back to mono. I do use braid for a c-rig and a mono leader. If the water is real clear I will go down in line size. Ryan.

P Line Flouroclear is a hybrid line which I have fished for years and it works well for topwaters. I do have pure FC on 2 reels and it does sink; one brand much faster then the other.
Diameter to Diameter (not what the package rates the line at), Flouroclear and Yozuri hybrid are the strongest lines I've ever tested and I literially test all lines in my home with weights before I use them. A 12# Floroclear will lift 15lbs of weight off the floor, yozuri hybrid in 10# is the same diameter as the flouroclear will do 15 as well.
I dont' fish the Cxx product much but believe it is even more mis-marked and many of the comments about big diameters come from people that have fished the Pline Cxx and not the Pline Floroclear which is a different beast.
Give the 15# Floroclear a try. Great for many things. 12# Yozuri is another good one and is probably a bit more abrasion resistant. Having fished mono's of all brands for years, I don't see why everyone isn't fishing one of these lines as they are about the same price and perform better in my opionion.
