    West Boggs Tourney 4/7

    Anyone know the results??

I drove by as everyone was leaving. Looks like the lake is still down around three or four feet.

Any info on the tourney would be great.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Re: West Boggs Tourney 4/7

I can give you some information, but the group that held the 4/7 tournament has not yet turned in their weigh in sheets.

The group that held a 28 boat tournament on 3/24 has turned in their sheets, and it looks like they had a good day. I see 23 boats with fish, for a total of 93 Bass weighed in. Of those the big bass was 7.4 lbs. I count 7 additional bass over 5 lbs., and another 14 over 3 lbs. First place for 5 bass was 26.3 lbs.

The lake is about 18 inches below normal as of 4/9

    Hope this helps.

I have been getting some emails from some of you folks, about upcoming tournaments. Since the same question seems to be of interest to several people, I’ll try to answer it here for everyone to share.

As of today, there are still 6 more open tournaments on West Boggs before the Memorial Day summer closure. Then there will be 8 opens in the fall, after Labor Day. You can find that list, complete with contact information on the fishing page a www.boggs.com

For those of you who are interesed, the last rains here have raised the water level to within about 10 inches of normal, as of 4/13/07. Also, we're seeing crappie action concentrated on exposed downwind points this week. Bluegill anglers have been seeing that action pick up as well.

    Update 4/18

Just to keep you updated on water conditions, West Boggs is now with about 4 inches of noraml pool and I'd expect the next rain to fix that small deficit. Water clarity has cleared a great deal in the last 10 days, although there is still an iced tea color to it at this time. I don't have a current surface temp.

All the ramps and causeway tunnels are open and most of the timber areas are back in the water like they should be.

The few hardy soals that have been out in the recent cold weather have done OK, and last weekend a small closed tournament saw several fish over 3 lbs. and the big bass for them was over 5 lbs.
