    Pegging weights on Texas rig

How many of you guys peg your weights on a Texas rig? I have never really done it and wondering when it is good to use and not good to use. I was told about in to a new product that is a new way to peg your wieghts. The weight has a wire on it that connects to your hook. Just wondering if anybody has used anything like this and what they think......

I peg mine when pitching or flipping, especially in grass...I want the sinker and worm to be one solid lure and not let the sinker possible get ahead of the worm or grub. If it does it has a chance of spooking the fish I might catch on the initail fall of the lure....

So what do you use to peg your weights?? do you use the rubber pegs or toothpicks? or is there some other way? I ask because with these weights i bought you dont have to use any thing to peg your weight to bait, but they are no good if you want to peg it up your line.

I absolutely love the bullet weights that screw into the nose of your bait! They even make them with a rattle to give you a little more noise. I got hooked on using them three years ago and have always used them since.

I really like the rubber peg-it's when using tubes or any bait that has the hollow body. I like the screw in type for solid nosed plastics.

Try using the rubber slip bobber stops. They work real well you can even adjust by using two of them one above and one below.

I am a cheapy I use toothpicks like the other guys mainly for flippin especially if in bush's with alot of limbs. I dont care for those little pieces of wire rubbing on my line especially the knot.

I have some of the weights you are talking about not only do the peg your weight they also keep you plastic from slipping down. I have put one on a tube and used it to skip under boat docks. They also make just the wire clip which you can use to keep plastic from slipping down. I bought these at the boat show in Indy. The two boys that designed them are from Shelbyville Illinois. I have not fished them enought to give you any real testimonial but the look good.
When you peg your weight it will weaken your line, however their are times you just have to do it. With that said I have pegged weight with round tooth picks for years.
