I have to say that depending on the report that I get back on barren I might just head on over to green and chase the muskie and perhaps the crappie, I am not a crappie fisherman however my father is and if the pattern is right then I will skip the muskie fishing that I so dearly love and take him crappie fishing. If anyone can give me any information on the two species over there so I can decide on what the better option would be that would be great.

Fished Casey Creek Last Thursday Found Underwater Cover In Channel Before Creek Goes Small Weather Got Cool And Breazy But My Buddy Started Pulling Two At A Time On Minnows About Six Feet Deep Probably Caught Sixty With Only Eleven Keepers Water About Ten Feet Deep In This Spot.went Back Saturday Same Spot Water Went From 56 Degres To 64 In 48 Hours Managed Seven With One Keeper Added 4 White Bass 10 To 13 Inches Then Nothing Action Aruond 5pm Both Days .didnt Talk To Anyone That Caught Very Many.hope This Helps.aweek Might Make A Difference.its Been A Crazy Weather Year.

I dont Muskie fish but I do catch a few every year on Green buy accident. I cought a small one around 25" this week on a spinnerbait. I also had a estimated 30" fish follow a crankbait back to the boat. Glad he did not hit the crankbait because those Lucky Crafts are not cheap LOL. Both fish were positioned on the bank leading into the back of a cove.

I do not crappie fish either but I have spoken to several people on the lake this year that were crappie fishermen and they all report the same thing. You must catch 10 crappie in order to get 1 keeper.

From what I have heard - Muskie fishing has been slow do to the spawn. The smaller fish R19 was seeing are probably the males who remain more active during the spawn than the big fat females. The spawn should be over and the feeding frenzy could start any day. Usually post spawn fish can be found mid creek migrating to the main lake. That is usually were you will find the bait fish as well. Good luck and post us an update. The Fishers of Men Muskie Trail will be on Green River next weekend so any news would be appreciated.

I would also like information on leads to information about how stocking muskie in a lake effects the crappie population, size and numbers.I love to crappie fish and my favorite lakes have has muskie stocked in them. These lakes are full of crappie but they are undersized for the most part. I am wondering if the muskie will feed on the crappie and bring down the number of crappie. That could be a good thing if it helps those crappie that survive have more food. They may not be enough food for so many crappie and that can stunt the crappies size. Maybe culling out a few crappie will help the remaining fish grow faster and bigger? I hope or wish that were true.

I fished Green for bass today. It was pretty slow, although we did one good one that went about 4 1/2 pounds or so.

I also had a muskie do my poor brush hog wrong. It looked to be about 40ish inches or so. It got a tooth on the line and the fight was over.
