I noticed that also. If oil price per barrel comes down then gasoline should come down in the future. Oil futures control the price of gas in the future. So if oil future prices go up in Jan they may not take effect until Feb. All this does is lock in the amount of oil being purchased in the future at a certain prearranged price. It's like ordering a COD package. Your agree to the price and it's shipped to you later and then you pay as the package arrives. We can do one of two things about rising gasoline prices. We can fight or we can ignore it and make jokes about high gas prices. I've noticed that most just shake it off and make a joke about it. Or they say Nothing will stop me fishing. I saw one woman on another Internet forum say that she was OK if the price of gas went up to $8/gallon. Evidently she thought she's rich enough to sustain her life style for the rest of her life at those prices. I can tell you what I would do. I would make my voice known to my elected officials. I don't want to hear some egomaniac talking about supply and demand economics where he benefits greatly though his stock ownership in EXON. Spare me the lecture on S&D economic, unless you want to talk about how the government should control MONOPOLIES too. Steps down off the podium!Another thing or two that can be done. Conserve gasoline! By 4 stroke engines for your boat. Go slower on the lake to save fuel. By a hybrid car. If everyone did something to conserve it would help. But I won't be holding my breath waiting for this to happen. Although I wish everyone would help out.</p>
