We just came home from a week at Lake Cumberland. We rented a house boat from Conley Bottom and fished that part of the lake. The water temp was 58 when we started on Sunday and was 62 when we left friday. In the back of White Oak Creek it was 65 on thursday ( the only day I was in that Creek). The fishing was pretty good as we caught Stripers,Walleye, and Bass. The best Striper was 20+ and the Walleye was over 8# and the Bass was alittle over 4#. All and I mean all were caught on the Red Fin!! Right on the bank right where they were supposed to be. I don't have any idea how many we lost to pull offs and missed hits. They would hit so hard sometimes that they would miss the bait you could hear the hooks rattle on the bait as it filpped through the air. I know you all know what I am talking about. It makes me want to go back right now just talking about it!! The second night out Monday night right off the main lake back in a cut. I made a cast to the back of this cut . I cranked the reel handle twice and there was a big blast. You most likely won't believe this next part but here goes. This fish turned to my left to leave this cut and head for the main lake. It pulled like nothing I had felt before. It was very very strong and the whole fight lasted for about 15 to 20 seconds. It just let go I could not believe it was over and gone just that quick. After reeling in my plug I saw why he was gone. It had pulled straight one of the hooks on the front set of trebles and had broken my bait in half as the back half was gone!! I am going to keep that bait as a reminder of the one that got away from me at The Big C. night fishing!!!!

You hooked a monster. I've had a few on. I've had them close all the trebles on a hook.
