One thing you can count on at Barren River the hybrid rule the lake, by this I mean they are all over the place at all depths at anytime. I have caught them at night tight lining for cat fish with liver, night crawler, and even stink bait. some of my biggest have been near the Narrows with live shad about this time of the year net a few live shad 3 to 6 inches long, as many as you can keep alive at one time and watch your elctronis to find the fish in about 10 to 18 feet of water lower your bait down through the column and bring it back up until you get your first strike more than likely this will be the sweet spot and just repeat like the shampoo bottle says. with any luck at all and a good stout rod and strong hooks you will limit out on 6 to 10 pounders in less than an hour. There is one other strange thing about Barren River Hybrid, when it floods over the parking lots by the beach or ramps toss out a curly tail on the black top and a live night crawler or two for some reason the 2 to 4 pound hybrids love hunting over the black top I don't know if the crawfish gather up on it or what but any time there is very high water we catch fish on the asphalt. Go figure well good luck
Remember why your wife always ask if you rembered to put the plug back in your boat. good that way you don't have to lie when she ask you.
