    Thank You Lord

You know men can build good fast boats, expensive rods and reels, and we can design fishing lures that make your mouth water, and your wallet scream. But only thing that man cant do, or one of the many things men cant do is make ideal nights, these past three nights were just that. Sunday I didn't pray and ask to catch a lot of fish, I just asked Him for the right to enjoy the splender of his creation, and He granted me that. The arthritis was gone, all the things that usually go wrong at night didn't, and the fish were biting.Sure I could have stayed much longer, caught a few more each night, but it felt so good, knowing that I did have the chance to enjoy another day, and pray that there will be another one tommorow. That my friends is one thing we cant do, give another being the pleasure of another day, only He can do that. Thank Him for everything.

I found myself feeling this very same way last weekend...during the week last week I was able to take my dad fishing on Dale Hollow with Randell Gibson...boated 14 brownfish and 2 cats on Wednesday and 24 brownfish on Thursday. Dad is 80 years old and on dialysis so being able to see him rassle with a brownfish stripping his line was a treat!!!! I got some decent pictures of him that turned out good too...No matter what the trip costed me I could not pay any amount of money to relive those two days.

Yes, DEAR old Dad what I would not give to see him still alive so I could show him what I have learned about fishing lol--He was a big time bank river fisherman. He had too, had 9 kids at home to feed. Going to tell a few stories on him lol.guess i was around 17years old we were camping out all night at the old Procter pay lakes outside of Georgetown KY, now it got around 12:00 midnight fishing was off. he said he had enough i said what beer or fishing he went to bed in the tent-Now it started to rain big storm coming in at them cats turned on big time--Now those rods started to bend big time-I went flying in the tent an woke him up--Its hard to wake someone who had a few or more beers to drink-hell i know i even kicked him a few times--AN yelled cats he got up fast then lol-Now my Dad had only one arm he made a device that strapped around his waste now i don, t have to tell you what it looked like lmbo-He would stick the handle in that pipe and bring them cats in big time--He went on and caught five nice blue cats in about 1 HR-He was in heaven WTG pop----Now for the funny stuff----Me and my Mom an a few others yes and dear old Dad we were fishing one day down at Twin Lakes pay lake now i was down the bank some Mom not far away-Two older ladies came walking down the bank to fish you could one yell at the other OMG look at that --Dear old Dad had layed back on the grass for a nap on down the bank--Yes that pipe sticking up in the air LMBO--I had to grab my mother i thought she was going to roll in the water from laughing so hard--Now the two old women they were gone--Dear old Dad thank you for that---

That's awesome Chub, I'm really glad you and your Dad had fun. This post and this thread are what's it's all about. I wish I could take my Dad fishing.

Guys you all have said it all . Its hard to beat just floating on the lake or sitting around the ol pond watching my kids enjoy the day. Nothing better in life in my honest opinion. On vacation this weekend and my ol buddy from Louisville is coming in and I hope to put him on some monster Laurel River Lake walleye. He doesn't get down much but I always look forward to it. We have had some good times and some lousy fishing but it nice just to sit back and relive the past and enjoy what the good lord has given us. Now if he could only get his wife talked into fixing some of that fried chicken she is so good at, it just might be a perfect weekend. LOL
