    Re: taylorsville

It is a tough lake to fish. I have had some good days. But I have had many more bad days. You can go there on a weekday and the place would be packed. Go to Nolin, Rough or Barren and you will see one other boater. Plus T-ville is a little smaller by about 2,000 acres.

Someone may know this better than me, but when T-ville was originaly flooded wasn't it going to be 6,000 acres and they decided not to flood that much hunting land? I have heard that from several people but never from someone in the know. Thanks Ryan.

Love the discussion. Actually it is not the lake that I hate, but MY ability to catch fish on it

Maybe, one of you that does like Taylorsville will go with me and show me how to get it done here. PM me.

I understood you perfectly biggw, but I don't know why you had to bring up Cedar Creek in this discussion.

I heard the same thing before Ryan, I don't know if it's true or not.

I mean with a forty boat tourney and three fish getting top prize you should have no problem. When that lake was first impounded it was the bomb, no question about it. Ah but then came 20 tourneys a week for years on end and well it went to hell in a hand basket. This is my take and if ANYBODY can consistently go to that mudhaole and catch five good keepers on a consistent basis you better start fishing for a living. When they had the BASS event there several years back some of the pros were making jokes about there being no fish in the lake. I think Alton Jones won it with three fish. Look don't get me wrong I know there are fish in the lake I've had good days there, but with freaking gas at 3.18 per gallon, I would rather fish a farm pond then deadlorsville. 20 tourneys a week for years= rotten fishing, just my humble opinion.
Alton didn't win the tournament at Taylorsville, he actually won it at Guist the day before with a good limit. If you recall the day they were at taylorsville it was terribly cold and windy and I don't believe any of the pro's blanked. Dustin Wilks had a limit and Zell Rowland had a big bass around 7 pounds. All this and they only fished four hours during that tournament. I was in the boat with Davey Hite that day and he had four keepers all came from up above Van Buren.

Not trying to defend Taylorsville, just saying that fish can be caught if you feel like working for them.

All Im saying is it fits my style of fishing so therefore I like the lake, I have only had a handful of days over there that sucked the rest were good COMPARED to everyone else. Its not a lake where you can take a TX rig worm and flip it up on the bank and shake it a few times and set the hook, never will be, so therefore ALOT of people hate it because thats how ALOT of people fish. The fact is look at the shocking surveys, the fish are there just as populous as nolin or rough or green just harder to catch....and thats the way I like it.

So do you win most of the tourneys you fish there it sounds that you have completely figured them out? I agree with you on the doing different in a heavily fished lake and I don't just go up there and shake a black power worm three inches from the bank, LOL. I've had outstanding days there before, but Dude if you are catching five good keeps everytime you go to Taylorsville we need to get you some sponsors.

if i could get 3 good keepers on a consistant basis i'd fish every tournmnt i could there,i'd get money more often than not,i know a lot of good fisherman who fosh the tnt and monday tournaments weekly and they aren't that consitent,i do catch a lot of fish just not big ones.a weightless plastic and modified crankbait in the timber work well for me but i don't like to work that hard when i know i can go a little farther and get some good ones at green or nolin, preference in that order.by the way has anyone noticed how good green is getting again?think the fact all the tourneys for the most part abandoned it for a few years?Hey king like they said if you are that consitent i'd be burning them tnt's up and hats off to ya.

I have not been on Green in a couple of years but, I have heard that it is making a great come back. Same with Nolin. A few years ago it was very difficult to catch fish but now if I don't catch 30 it is a bad day. Not all of them are huge but they are still pretty good. With that said all fish are good some are just better than others. Ryan.
