    Lake Monroe Blues

Fished Monroe all day Sunday. Didn't catch a single largemouth bass. This is the second straight time I have fished Monroe all day without a single keeper. Both days weren't ideal for bass fishing, but who has the time to pick there days based on the weather. I used to love this lake, and don't know if it is just me or is anyone else having trouble there this season?

Yea..me and my buddies called it Mon nothing Roe. Don't get discourage though, if you drain the water out and counts the number of 5+lbs bass and compare it with any other lake in the state. Those others don't stand a chance against Mon nothing Roe.

Lake Monroe is nothing like it used to be. I will not waste my money or time fishing this "bathtub." If the DNR would use some of that money they're stealing from ridiculous launch fees and licenses going up every year they could turn lakes like Monroe around.

Fished Got2loveit T on Sunday. I caught fish Thur. Sat. Sun. Just not alot of keepers. Saw alot of fish of beds but the wind on Sun. messed that pattern up. The T director said he went out with the DNR for a Elector Survey and they had 185 bass the marked. Bill said that around 100 of these bass were over the 5lbs mark. It took 5 bass 19lbs to win I think. I didn't stay to see everyone weigh in. 2nd had like 16lb Someone always catches them but I do agree. they could still stock some more bass. Gorllia Bass strand would be nice they are a mix of Florida strain females and agressive strain Northern bucks. They are suppose to get over 6lbs within 3 or 4 years depending on the growing season and forage. Which the forage wouldn't be a problem but the growing Season is little different from Alabama where they are geneticly produced.
