    Lawnmower accident

My son calls me today and asks to borrow my riding mower to cut his 2.5 acres. He wanted to wait till tomorrow so he could help me load it on the truck.
I figured I'd get a jump on it and started to load it by myself. Two planks as ramps like always only this time one plank creaks, groans, and snaps in half with me on the mower attempting to ride it onto the truck bed.
The wife and my other son are at a graduation ceremony for a niece and won't be home for hours. That was my thought as the mower and I tumble to the ground sideway.
I got my leg out of the way from getting trapped and landed on my back next to the mower. Whew!! Close call.
Dust myself off, turn the mower upright, get a new plank and walk the mower onto the truck.
Thankyou,Lord for watching out for me!!!!!!!

I almost took a tumble the same way loading mine into the back of my truck in the Home Depot parking lot.

    Glad you weren't hurt...

    Re: Lawnmower accident

Recently, I have two friends roll their riding mowers, one has a broken neck, the other with a broken leg and crushed chest. Both are now doing fine, but the increase of mower turn-overs is increaseing and most mowers I see do not have roll bars on them. I know of one death this year from turn-over. The heavy quick-turn mowers are the worst. They can kill you, especially if you are mowing on road-sides and hills.

    Big 10-4 on that.

My uncle turned one over on a hillside and nearly lost his foot to the deal.

    Re: Lawnmower accident

I had a friend that I grew up with and we played soccer together starting at age 6. He had an artificial leg and he used to kick it off during the game and the ref would stop the game and the kid would put his lef back on and we would start playing again. This never seemed to bother anyone of the kids playing, but you should have seen the faces of the people watching, the reactions were priceless. Anyway, he lost his leg when his brother was taking him for a ride on the lawn-mower and it flipped and chopped off his leg. Be careful with those things, it is not only adults that get hurt.
