Thanks, man that lake is fun for staying busy with setting the hook on those 9-14 inch bass huh? We caught fish as soon as we started casting and the panfish guys were busy as well. I'm going back real soon to whack those bass again. What's up with the water color? Anyone hear that they plan on spraying the grass? Not sure how that water will look after that....

    Gw,
We had a lucky big bite.... 4.68lb bass. That was enough for 1st and big bass. It was tough for a tourny but i love the action from those smaller bass! I bet a man could go and catch 30 bass...but none over 14" lol You gotta weed through a ton of small ones.....
Do you remember the water being brown and stained before? In some areas it flat out smelled bad!

DON -my guess would be on that water color--- I think it is coming from the roots of that tall grass an the smell im sure that its from them roots too----

Living on beaver i can say the water color and odor are from the weed beds. The fish and wildlife told me there would be a limited weed spraying also. Last year the spraying was over done and i beleive caused some problems. Come the first or second week in june there is a die back on some of the weeds,I think due to water temps. DJD don't underestamate you can have 50 bass days here and if not in a tourny it sure is a blast.

I believe 50 a day is possible, we had many areas that we left because we wanted some bigger bites. That lake is alot of fun. Have you noticed the keeper's being caught going up or down? We fished our butt off and if wasn't for the lucky bite my partner got we would have had a zero.

I help run the Grassmasters club here and in 5 tournys so far ,we have weighed only 5 or 6 fish . Whats being brought in are nice fish but keepers are looking a little slow and hard to get this year. Don't give up on Beaver though usually after the spawn is over it seems to always pick up some. Good luck in all your fishing days.

Are you the fella that was running the store Saturday afternoon? We stopped in after the tourny and talked with him. Just wondering?

Nope wasn't me DJ. I live just down from the dock on the right as you head down the lake.Didn't go out saturday knowing all the boats that were going to be here. like doing my fishing in smaller crowds. It makes it easy when you can walk cross the yard get in the john boat when the mobs aren't here. Congradulations on your win.

Is there any fishable( froggen) moss up yet. And what do you think is wrong
with the lake, what I mean is for the last 5 years it is all 10" to 14" you want to catch with a keeper here and there and 2 is a real good day, 3 keepers is almost unheard of , and I can not even remember when someone has got a limit bass in a day. Do you think they are being taken out or is there to many small fish?

    Wormin,
yeah the moss is in the back of the smaller coves and the grass has topped out and laying over around most of the lake. We had a ball with the frog type baits.
    C&Y,
Thanks and it sounds as if we fished in your back yard or around your dock! Take care
