If I couldn't do any better than that, I'd quit...LOL!!!!!
Looks like you've given the new "Titanium Gut" a good workout and it passed.
You need to let me know when you have to come up to Frankfort in-law visiting. My new place is about 20 mins away. I'll put you in my two-man boat for a couple of hours on an impounded section of the creek with some topwater proto-types to test.Lord Willing and the creek don't rise.
You've got my number.
Billy
Are you sure we can both fit in your two-man boat? My big behind is a good 1 3/4 to 2 -man by myself. I do have your number but you don't have my new cell number, it is 502-226-0935. I will be in touch when things settle down.
Born and raised in Winchester but lived in Frankfort for 7 years before (Like an IDIOT) moved to Boonville IN 2 years ago due to a promotion. Moving back to Georgetown for now but will most likely end up back in Frankfort for good when it is all said and done. I would love to live in your neck of the woods being that close to all those good lakes but it just is not in the cards.
Elnutsmalljaws,
Hey man, awesome report. You made me wish I was back down there as well. I sure wish I lived closer for sure. I ran into your buddy in the green & white bullet, he was asking about you....LOL.Couldn't resist. It was nice meeting you down there at the ramp and also thanks for the info. I live in Paris, so when you get back this way give me a buzz.

Come on now Rangerman, it was Teal and White not Green and White and when you say you "Ran" into him, I sure hope you left Ranger and Prop marks all over his thick skull, LOL. By the way, I hammered them in the same general area that I showed you in person that morning but just deeper. Born and raised in Winchester and been to Paris many times, my buddy Cliff loves the Houston Oaks golf course. Georgetown is not that far away and maybe we can share a boat together some day, either your nice ranger or my old heap Tracker don't matter to me.

Elnutsmalljaws,
Had to give your boy in the pee-green boat a swirly when he got too close to your honey hole, LOL. As for sharing a boat, anytime. We might have to get after some of them ole nasty brown fish some cold snowy day on the Big C or Dale.![]()
Be glad to fish in your nice looking boat anyday.

Yes...great report indeed! In fact I think I'm going to print it out and place it in the men's facilities here at work, how about that sports fans?
I agree with Elwood on a lot of what he said about his experience with the guide and not getting 100 fish per day just because he hired a guide, etc...I have been out with the same guide twice now, the first time we zero'd but the second time we had a really good day. But the common demoninator on both occassions was the personality of the guide, his willingness to share/teach what he knows about the targeted species of fish, the particular body of water, etc...He's just an all around good guy in my opinion.
On a separate note...there are fish and then there are FISH. Likewise with posts on this site, there are posts and then there are ELWOODS POSTS...Nuff said
Thanks for the comments Chub. Hope the fellas at work don't use your printout for crack-wiping material. Between a few of Dave Stewart's night spots, my own spots, and a couple of ledges and humps that I fish at night, maybe I can give another good report tomorrow morning upon my return from North Ky. Surely, I can get at least one fish to bite in the 12 hours or so on the water between the topwater tonight and tomorrow early, jig, tube, crankbait, C Rig Lizard and Drop Spinnerbait. No takers on the Back Seat offer so it looks like I will have my Old Heap to myself. May be for the better for I have had a leak in my boat for a year now and it is getting worse and if she sinks ( A guy can wish can't he for I want a new one really bad) it will only be me swimming to shore. Bilge pump put to use every hour or so to keep pumping out the "moisture". Lifetime warranty on the hull but to busy or lazy, mostly too lazy, to take it to Bass Pro for repairs.Yes...great report indeed! Man, it's great to hear that report! I grew up fishing those areas you speak of and I know which bluff you're talking about. Man, talk about bringing back some memories! My family had a houseboat docked at Buzzard Rock from the time when I was 8 until my senior year of high school, and I fished the heck out of Poplar Creek, Kuttawa, Davenport, Demumbers, the island outside of Poplar Creek, the island in Poplar Creek, the prison, and of course that awesome bluff you spoke of! My biggest catfish have come off that bluff!
Hey Scott the best two days I've ever had on Barkley was right in the canal and on the mouth of the canal to Buzzard Rock Marina. Me and a buddy had two days there where we just completely whacked'em, I stiil have dreams about it. It's a small world sometime......Man, it's great to hear that report! Elwood: Thanks for all the kind words. I am glad that you feel that the time we have spent together has paid off for you. It is those kind of comments that make these 16 hour days and 7 day weeks on the water trying to break even with high gas prices and high equipment costs seem worthwhile. Luckily most bass anglers are realistic and don't expect 50-100 bass a day when they book a guide (heck if we could do that KVD would be polishing our boats) but every once in a while you get a day like you had on Tuesday and it makes us seem like heroes...lol. I had a fair day on Tuesday with that front coming in also but due to the nature of my trip that day (prepping for a pro level tournament in mid June) we had to spend our time looking at areas for the bite that will be there then instead of what was happening right now...I could tell though even from what we were doing that it was one of those great bite days.
We ended up cancelling our trip on Wednesday soon after launching on Ky Lake because of the high winds....again another tournament prep for the June tournament and no way to look at ledges for June when the lake is rolling 6 footers. It is rolling again today but the wind is supposed to settle down tomorrow abiet it will be post frontal with easterly direction winds and blue skies. The thing about bass fishing is mother nature rules and we just adjust to her accordingly....it is that challenge that keeps me going out there day after day, and of course having some great clients like you.
