    Cumberland Night Fishing and

All right guys a little help please. Made my second trip to Cumberland for the night fishing. Due to the ramp situation I decided to try a new part of the lake for me. I put in at Conley Bottom and fished White Oak Creek until about 1 a.m.

I thought it was going to be a good night when the water started "boiling" with shad just before dark, but I zeroed out again. I know you guys talk about casting the banks at night but are downlines and balloon rigs useless at night? If not do you need to rig them differently?

Elnut talked about the idiots let me second that. I had several boats, boats pulling tubes, and Jet Skis blast by me or run between me and the bank. I even had one 35-40 footer come by at about 1 this morning blasting rap music, people screaming and laying on the air-horn. Then when I gave up and went to the campground some yahoo was riding a 4-wheeler around and people were drinking and partying until the wee hours. This morning I go to the bathhouse and some guy is loosing his cookies. Maybe I'm beginning to show my age but this stuff just seems to keep getting worse. Are there any Lakes left for Fishermen?

You should have no problem catching fish right now at night on a Redfin and Sliver.

We had a pretty good night Sat night, no huge fish, but a barrel of fun. We ended up with 2 walleye for the freezer, and 12-15 Stripers in the boat before 3 am. Best bite was around 1 AM, red-fin had to be fished EXTREMEMLY slow, and Sliver was just fast enough to make the bait work. White/red sliver, and silver/black redfin.

Catching these fish is not that hard, you just have to be in the right place at the right time. The Stripers seem to be in certian areas for some reason this year. Most of the time, any channel wall, or pockets near these walls produces, but I actually had to make a move around 12:30 in order to find the rocks.

This week should be a great week for night fishing, if you need help, email me. I'll do what I can.

I love Cumberland and always will but when the weather warms up and the nutcases come out I let them have it until cold weather blows again. It's not worth it too me. I had a moron drunk in a cabin cruiser which I absolutely HATE ANYWAY dilberately try to swamp me in Brown creek last year. He almost succeeded to while his drunk skank wife girlfriend whatever laughed her drunken head off.
