    Going Amish

Do you guys think I would look silly pulling that Champion with a horse and buggy. How long do you think it would take me to get from Oldham Co. to Russell Co. pulling my boat with the team. The oil companies win, I'm screaming uncle and looking for alternatives, LOL. Man how would I back it in on those steep ramps?????

I'm with you hall. Heck I'll provide half the feed for the horses if you can take me with you and I'm pretty sure that if we put are two brains together that we can probably get that Champion to run off steam as well. LOL From the looks of things I'll be looking Billy up and hitting the creeks this year. Oh well it won't be the first time. What do you charge billy for a guided trip on the Elkhorn. It's got to be cheaper than the gas to get on the lake.

Go to www.killacycle.com and look at the battery powered motorcycle that can do 155 in the quarter. Just think about an outboard running a third of that good all on battery!

I say go for it....I'm in the horse biz and if everyone starts resorting to horses, then the oil companies will just buy up all the horses and when that happens I'll be sittin in the catbird seat. LMAO

Not to rain on your parade guys, but that would send hay to about $75.00 a bale wouldn't it? Sorry, the thought just hit me!!

Know what you mean. It gets much worse and I'm hooking the dog up to the little red wagon and having her run me to work and back. Heck, it will excersise her at the same time. A win win situation

Heck I'm trying to talk momma into letting me buy a Scooter, just to do my errands on around town. She's afraid one of these crazy Louisville driver's would take me out and leave her a widow.... So it's a no-go...maybe when gas hits $4.00 a gallon she might change her mind.....

I find it interesting that some people will defend making interest payments on a boat for over 15 years, but will complain loudly at a .50 - .75 per gallon increase in gas.

    Re: Going Amish

Guys, I dont think it will ever get any better, it will only get worse. The USA depends on foriegn oil suppliers to make our gas and lets face it , they dont like us very much right now. boycotting gas doesnt hurt them as much as people think it does after months of record breaking profits they are filthy rich and living the good life. unless we come up with a alternitive fuel or stop depending on foreign oil suppliers it wont get any better. im waiting on mercury or yamaha to make a hybrid before i get a bigger boat, lol.
