Another Marina on Harrods Creek has been posted.

There is more and more of this taking place these days. The State Dock at Barren now is off limits to all fishing from the jetty point all the way back I'm told, and there have been some tickets issued i'm told.
This was last year I heard this, does anyone know if this is still the law?

Wow, that's news to me, our club just had a tournament there on May 12th. and I fished all the way back and seen other boats fishing the same area. No one said anything to me about it. I got a meeting tonight with my club and I'll ask to see if anyone has heard anything about this.

It's an open body of water, how can an area be off limits other than if it was a danger zone like around the pumps by the dam.

Same here, we fished the crap out of the rip rap over by the State Dock. We didn't see the Five-Oh tho, so dunno about any tickets

Where is all the money that BASS and other organizations have that say they are there to help fight this stuff? Maybe I am wrong about that, but that is why I have let my membership go. If fisherman don't stand up and fight for our rights than it will be easy for them to take over and have their way. I don't know what to do but am willing to help. Ryan

guys there has got to be something we can do about this, not only about this Marina but all marina's in ky even captain's quaters.
their are enough people on this board surely someone knows somebody with a little bit of pull.

the way i look at it as long as you stay in you boat and your boat is in navagable water we have the right fish anywhere we want.

come on whats next maybe land owners long the river start putting up signs saying it's illegal to be on the river? to me it's the same thing.

I know some people on here are going to say something about them people having more time and money than we do and that maybe it's a lost cause, but
I think that if we can find someone that has a little pull and let us about it so we can get something rolling and WE ALL STAND UNITED we can get this issue resolved.

I'm just curious to know how many members we have on this board. and not only that but how many we have that are willing to stand and fight for our rights.

there's probably not that many of those richs guys that are going to take time out of there rich lives to put up much of a fight against us. and the ones that will try to take a stand will probably give up if we overwhelm them be numbers alone.


also guys keep in mind that we coming up on election year.
maybe can put some weight on these politicians.

I remember reading in bassmaster mag. about someone fighting this an won.

well i quess no one is willing to take a stand. I haven't seen any reply's about my post or suggestions on what too do or how to get the ball rolling.

so if no one is willing to fight for our rights then you don't have a right to complain.

It is my understanding that the Corps is letting marina owners post boundaries around their marina, they are allowing this in the lease. Not sure what could be done about that since the corps controls the lakes.

As for Captains Quarters, they have already won the case in lower court, and although most legal experts think it could be overturned, they all agree that it is going to take way too much money.

The Quarters case is History, since they built the area that the Marina is in. So don't go fishing in their area, for risk of getting a ticket from a rent-a-cop.

Will be looking more into the Barren River Marina deal....

Lets get everyone thats concerned about this issue and hold some sort of meeting. I dont know who we would need to call with importance to attend to explain our rights to, but Im sure if enough people go and it was to get rowdy enough that this issue would take off from there. They would continue to hold meetings until something was done about the retired non-fishing, complaining people. But then again they might get it approved where we cant fish anywhere, so its just a chance we have to take. You would think that Jim Dicken would have some sort of pull to get this started for us anglers. Im sure its probualy harder than I think to do this but you got to start somewhere. Joe
