Going to ky lake this weekend. Any info about sugar bay. I know it has a launch ramp but what condition is it in and is a permit required to launch here?
Thanks

I haven't been there this year for an update on condition but I am sure it is fine. It is a small one-lane concrete slab. It launches fine but it is tight on pulling up far enough to get an angle to back. No lights for at night and it is proceeded by 3 miles or so of gravel road to get back to it. I lauch there occasionally if the wind is up but I find it easier to launch at Fenton or Ken lake and run a few miles.

It also doesn't have a courtesty dock so you have to beach your boat.
No permit required.
Fishing was pretty good in the bay this past weekend. May be worth the three miles of gravel road if it puts you on the fish.
wow. I've never seen one in sugar bay.
If you are heading into the bay from the main lake the ramp is located in the first cove to the right. Caught a few good fish early on topwater around the ramp Saturday morning.
