As some of you know I am in the process of moving out of the big city and to a small town. My house is located a few hundred yds from my beloved Elkhorn Creek(North Fork).
Last night I loaded up some stuff from my Lexington home to take down to the new place. My wife and child are already living down there. I'm just staying here through the week to clean up, pack up, and fix up..
Anyway last night after I got down loading my truck I decided to head "Over the hill".
I fired up my lawn mower( I have a trailer attached with chainsaw, weedeater, battery, and fishing pole) and headed down the driveway. It's a short 100 yds to the railroad tracks and about 200 yds down the hill to the creek.
We had some hard rains come through the day before and I was hoping for some good flow to wash out these impoundments and oxygenate the water. I did find some color, but no real flow.
The rig I have in my trailer is a 7.5ft MicroliteUL 4lb line and a APB handmande small creek crank.
I made 10 casts and caught 3 small LM. Couldn't get a smallie to bite.
So I fired up the tractor, went back up the hill, through the gate in the yard, and parked it in the garage...
Now that's living...
