We'll be staying in Delaware, near Maryland for a few days soon, and my brother has a new boat, so naturally we're planning on doing some fishing. I asked him what a license would run me, and he said don't worry about it, I'm covered by his. Turns out that in Maryland a "Consolidated Bay Sport Boat License allows everyone on board a vessel used for pleasure to recreationally fish and crab in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries in lieu of individual licenses." I think this is a fantastic idea! Seems to me they really don't lose much if any money on it, as most local people are going to buy individual licenses anyway. My brother doesn't fish exclusively from his own boat, so of course he has is own license, too. This just allows him to take guests out fishing and not make them have to pay for out-of-state licenses. I wonder if this type of thing would work around here? What do you guys think?
