Help on bank fishing

I need some help on locations and baits for bank fishing. My wife and I have tried for cats, but no luck so we are wanting to move on to a different species of fish. could anyone tell me what kind of fish, excluding catfish, we can catch from the bank and what type of bait to use and maybe a good time to try. I was talking to Brn at Frymans yesterday, He was telling one of his campers cought a 30 lb cat off the bank next to their campsite. Has boats to rent, and has done a great job of getting the rifraf and drunks out of their. all kinds of familys with kids. I might take my kids camping. hope this helps...Brian

If you want an absolute fun time go bluegill fishin. It's simple, stress relieving, and a pan filler. Just put a small popeye jig tipped with a wax worm under a split shot and a slip float and you're all set. Any time my dad and I have a chance to go we almost always come back with a basket full of hand size bluegill.
